Exodus 14:14
The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
The miraculous deliverance of the Israelites from Egypt now seemed to be in vain at this point: they were walled in by high, craggy rocks on each side, while the Egyptians were in hot pursuit, and closing in behind them, while before them was the Red Sea. Deliverance seemed impossible and in their terror and anxiety they complained to Moses that it would have been better to just have remained in Egypt, rather than to perish in the desert. Moses answers them in the words of our verse for today, “ The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace”. . You may be confronted by your own “Red Sea”. You may be in a situation from which you think that there is no way out. God can make a way! But you don’t fight spiritual battles with carnal weapons. The LORD shall fight for you. Go to Him. You don’t go into modern warfare with sticks and stones, and you don’t wage spiritual war against “the world, the flesh, and the devil, with just an arm of flesh. There is a ZONE in our daily walk with God, that is above the turmoil, anxiety and confusion surrounding us. It is like the “sweet spot” on a baseball bat. It is a place of peace, fellowship, and power. That blessed hymn says, “There is a place of quiet rest, near to the heart of God”. THERE YOU HAVE IT. THAT IS THE SECRET. Go to Him, talk to Him, and walk in His presence. THEN, “The LORD shall fight for you, and you shall hold your peace”.
